Go pear-shaped 搞砸了
       
          英解:To be screwed up, badly wrong
       
          “Go pear-shaped”这句俚语的典故据说源自以前的英国飞行员在接受训练时必须“绕圆圈”飞行,但由于难度颇高,因此飞行员往往会飞成“梨形”“pear-shaped”,而非正圆形“perfect circle”。几经演变,后来英文就以这句话来比喻一件事情“未如原先预期”或“搞砸了”。
       
          Example 例句:
       
          A: How was your presentation yesterday? Did you get them to sign the contract yet?
       
          你昨天的简报做的怎样?你让他们签约了吗?
       
          B: No, it all went pear-shaped. My partner was late and forgot to bring all the important papers.
