In China, it can be noticed that Chinese people are more likely to use modest words than individuals in other nations. Turing a look around, we can find a great many examples like this: when others speak highly of us, Chinese guys’ responds are usually: “I am not as good as you say.” or “so so”.However, this always results in misunderstanding in intercultural communication.

Some argue that it is absolutely to be ambitious. In their eyes, without a great ambition, it is impossible for one to possess greater motivation of striking. They go on to point out that being ambitious brings them benefits to their personal confidence; thus they will have more courage to face difficulties in life and work.
尾段为建议措施：（详见讲义第三页）
There is a variety of ways in which individuals can balance the moralities of ambition and modest. First, it is suggested that every one should enhance their awareness of great ambition. Then, we should educate, advocate and encourage our friends, classmates and acquaintances not to be excessively modest. If we spare no efforts to it, a promising and hopeful future is just awaiting us. |
