        　　Across the rich world, well-educated people increasingly work longer than the less-skilled. Some 65% of American men aged 62-74 with a professional degree are in the work force, compared with 32% of men with only a high-school certificate. This gap is part of deepening divide between the well-educated well-off and the unskilled poor. Rapid technological advances has raised the incomes of the highly skilled while squeezing those of the unskilled. The consequences, for individuals and society, are profound.
        　　15年6月四级阅读开篇的第一段落，其大体的结构是由现象-本质式的探讨，所以通篇文章基本上采取了这样的一种写作模式。首先在第一段中，作者引出了一个经济现象，通过more…….than的句式。我们抓住主体，主体有两个讨论点即 well educated 和 less-skilled，那么全文也当围绕这两点展开论述，文章说道受过良好教育的人与那些缺乏技能的人相比，在工作岗位上可能工作更长的时间。然后Some 65% of American men aged 62-74 with a professional degree are in the work force, compared with 32% of men with only a high-school certificate.则是对这一现象的进一步举例说明，同学们可看也可以不看。后面的内容信息至关重要， This gap is part of deepening divide between the well-educated well-off and the unskilled poor.我们可以把这个句子进行缩减，抓住主体修改后可以变成This gap is part of well-off and poor 而“This gap“就是指代前面所说的经济现象，说明这个经济现象也是导致贫富差距的部分原因。而后的阅读过程，同学们可能会被一个小词卡住，那就是”squeezing“，其实大可不必担心，因为这个词的词义完全可以通过句型结构来解决，注意到”while“这个词表示轻微的转折，我们看”squeezing“这个词在while之前有个词叫raise，自然可以理解是下降了。所以这句话说得是“科技的告诉进步使得掌握较高技能的人收入增加而使较低技能的人收入减少。表明了技术进步也是造成贫富差距的原因之一。最后说这些原因的结果对个人和社会的影响都是巨大的。
        　　There are two worrying features of the slowdown. One is that it has been particularly sharp in the world’s most popular(人口多)countries, India and China. Their ability to feed themselves has been an important source of relative stability both within the countries and on world food markets. That self-sufficiency cannot be taken for granted if yield continue to slow down or reverse.
        　　这是第二篇阅读的第三段，其大体上是在对前文中说到的“the slowdown”进行进一步的阐明。段落中说到产量的锐减有两个基本特征，并且先对其中的一个基本特征进行进一步的说明。同时作者给出了修饰词“worrying”，表明作者对此的态度是担忧的。同学们要非常小心这些小的修饰词，因为很有可能考到对情感态度的辨别。后面说到这一问题在人口多的国家常有发生。“Their ability to feed themselves has been an important source of relative stability both within the countries and on world food markets.”这个句子稍长可能考生就会有所迷惑了，首先应当把握住“the source of”，即……..是…….的来源，当然可以理解为因果联系。所以该局表明这些国家有能力自给自足是使得国内和国际粮食市场相对稳定的重要原因。这样转述，可能就比较容易看出因果，能够帮助考生进一步解题。而后作者说道如果田地继续减少或取消那么这样的自给自足就无法保证，其实作者暗含可能会发生粮食市场的动荡。
