　　《青花瓷》的中国意味悠远深长。曾被慧眼识珠的中学语文老师，编入语文考试。2008年的山东高考试题，甚至还引用了几句歌词：“素胚勾勒出青花笔锋浓转淡”，“色白花青的锦鲤跃然于碗底。”
        　　青花瓷的英文，有现成的表达，“the blue and white porcelein”。前几日，和一位美国大学生谈及我正翻译的《青花瓷》，听到“the blue and white”，他的话锋一转，却提到哥伦比亚大学的同名学生杂志the blue and white。名字不知作何翻译，“青花”?抑或“蓝与白”?该杂志1890年创刊，封面风格蓝白相间，颇为淡雅。时事，政论，文化，包罗万象。
        　　哥大的新闻学院，排名世界第一。其学生主持的百年杂志，水准可见一斑。尤其是07年伊朗总统内贾德在哥大演讲，该杂志报道详尽，名噪一时。
        　　如此想来，一些意象，在人们心目中，出于不同文化背景，竟如此风牛马不相及。
