You throw the sand against the wind,
And the wind blows it back again.
Mock on, mock on, Voltaire, Rousseau;
Mock on, mock on; 'tis all in vain!
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
the wind and the sand
forest wind disrupted the quiet of night;
I tossed and turned, without peace of mind.
The well in the yard
Saw a startled face
Stepping out of a nightmare.
To the North I set out for her,
only to have her roamings pieced together.
the ghost of time,
passing through a love story,
left a ghastly howl behind.
the wind-blown sand, where is your destiny?
I floundered along, a slave to love and hate.
to her side will you take me?
flowers withered and trees broke;
Blown were the wind and the sand.
I drifted to the end of the world;
All along you were ever on my mind.
barren hills were such a sad place,
that I saw shadows dance on her face.
No pain was more striking
than a patch of green stood out in ruins.
For ages I have kept awake
For a love that could stay.
Is this all but my doomed fate?
For ages I have kept a cool head
For a long-lasting love
A fate hopelessly doomed.
the wind-blown sand, where do you take me?
to her side?
I floundered along, ever a slave to love.
the wind-blown sand swept
withered flowers and broken branches in its wake.
I drifted to the end of the world
With you on my mind all along.
The hustle and bustle passed by
I closed both of my lips and eyes. |
