　　「句1」 This is a lesson for vocabulary extension.
        　　[译文]这一课的内容就是如何扩大词汇量。
        　　[分析]看上去这句话非常好翻，难点就在如何译“vocabulary extension”，如果译为“词汇量的扩大”就不通。
        　　「句2」烟囱通风不好，所以火不旺。
        　　[译文]There is not much draught up the chimney ;that why the fire doesn't
burn well.
        　　[分析]这里的“不好”与品质无无关，所以不能用“bad”，这里指的是“没有足够的通风”、“气流不畅”的意思。
        　　段子：
        　　最近，巴格达举世闻名的国家博物馆，许多具有几千年历史的文物被暴民洗劫一空，令世人感到震惊和悲哀。在这个人类自诩为文明的时代，还发生这样的事情，委实令人感到难以置信。
讽刺的是胜利的美军对发生在他们眼前的疯狂抢劫视若无睹，完全没有采取任何制止行动。

        　　Quite unbelievably， even in this seemingly more enlightened environment of
the 21st century， the world was shocked and saddened by the recent massive
looting of Iraq's choicest millennia-old cultural properties at the famed
National Museum in Baghdad. Ironically， this was committed right under the noses
of the victorious US invaders who did nothing whatsoever to stop it.
        　　[分析第一句话的翻译最好是要段落重组，如果按照中文的语句译下来就显得比较平淡。把副词提前，可以加重语气，然后再翻译主句。其他的没什么难度。
