Competition is a common phenomenon in our social life. We compete when we play games, we tryto do better than others in our study, and there is constant competition for job, customers, money, and so forth. We can say, to some extent,competition is one of the motive forces of thedevelopment of society.
And we often find competition and cooperation at the same time. Think of a basketball game, eachteam is competing with the other team. But each member of the team is cooperating with his orher teammates. In most cases, we can't do competition without cooperation. Thus they areequally important.
While we are advocating competition, we can't forget cooperation. Nothing is to be carried toextremes. Pure and exclusive competition leads to failures. Competition together with cooperationhelp us a great deal in obtaining our goals and satisfying our needs, especially in modernizing ourcountry. |
