Koko the gorilla is famous for having learned a large number of hand signs
from a modified version of American Sign Language. But less well known is the
fact that she absolutely loves babies - despite not having had the opportunity
to have any of her own.
大猩猩可可因其学会了大量改编版的美式手语而出名。但是人们不知道的是她很喜爱宝宝，尽管她没有机会拥有自己的孩子。
She often signs the word ‘baby’, carries gorilla dolls in her arms, and
even pretends that her dolls can sign by moving their arms and hands. So in
celebration of the ape's 44th birthday, her trainer Francine Patterson
introduced her to some other babies - a litter of kittens.
她经常作出“宝宝”的手势，怀里抱着猩猩娃娃，甚至摇晃着娃娃的手臂和手掌，假装娃娃也可以作出手势来。因此，为了庆祝可可44岁的生日，她的训练员弗兰辛·帕特森把一些其它的宝宝介绍给可可认识——一窝小猫咪。

Despite her huge hands being the size of the young cats, Koko was gentle
with the tiny balls of fluffwhen they arrived in a cardboard box, carefully
flicking a finger out to stroke them.
尽管可可巨大的手掌是这些小猫咪的尺寸，她对这些小毛球们很温柔，在它们进到纸盒子里的时候，可可会很小心的伸出一只手指来去抚摸它们。
Koko was filmed being presented with a cardboard box containing the
kittens, and taking a peek inside it.
可可在一个装满小猫咪的纸盒旁边，往盒子里偷瞄一眼。这一景象被拍下来了。
After bringing the cat up to her face to take a closer look, the gorilla
strokes its belly with her index finger before tucking it under her arm for a
cuddle.
猩猩可可把小猫放到自己眼前，近距离看着它，之后，可可用食指轻挠着猫咪的肚子，把它放在自己的手臂下给它一个抱抱。
