  My water Thinks So
Reading water meters in an unfamiliar part of town, I came upon a house with no number. Then I noticed an elderly man gardening at the first house on that block.
"Excuse me," I said to him. "Are you Number One?"
He smiled and replied, "My wife thinks so!"
          Notes:
            (1) water meter n.水表
            (2) unfamiliar adj.
            (3) come upon偶遇(等于come across)
            (4) Number One
          Exercises:
            ① Where was the author?
② What was the author doing?
③ What problem did he encounter?
④ What was the elderly man doing?
⑤ Did the elderly man really understand what the author meant?
① In an unfamiliar part of town.
② He was reading water meters.
③ He came upon a house with no number.
            ④ He was gardening.
            ⑤ No, he didn't.
