　　In China, studying abroad has a long history.
        　　出国留学在中国已有很长一段历史。
        　　It can be traced back to 1847 when the first Chinese student Rong Hong went
to America to study. After that, China gradually opened its door to western
education, and the first surge of studying abroad appeared in the early 20th
century.
        　　它可以追溯到1847年第一位中国学生容闳赴美留学。从那之后，中国逐渐向西方教育敞开了大门，并在20世纪初期，出现了第一次出国留学热潮。
        　　According to figures from the Ministry of Education, between 1978, when the
country launched the reform and opening up policy (改革开放政策) , and the end of
2007, more than 12 million Chinese students have studied abroad.
        　　依据教育部统计的数字可知，从1978年中国改革开放至2007年底，有超过1200万的中国学生远赴海外求学。
        　　Nowadays, for many college students, going abroad has become their primary
choice after graduation. Since GRE and TOEFL scores are a must for students to
apply for admissions into foreign universities, taking the TOEFL and GRE has
become many college students' main task during their college life.
        　　现如今，对于许多大学生而言，出国已成为其毕业后的主要选择。由于GRE和托福成绩是申请国外大学所必需的一个条件，因而对很多大学生而言，参加GRE和托福考试已成为其大学期间的主要任务。
        　　As the saying goes on many campuses, "College life cannot be fulfilled
without taking the GRE(Graduate Record Examination) and TOEFL(Test of English as
a Foreign Language)".
        　　许多大学校园里有这样一句流行语，“没参加过GRE和托福考试的大学生，其大学生活是不完整的。”
