Wealth, glamour and a powerful husband – it might seem as though Carla
Bruni has it all.
But while she rubs shoulders with the rich and famous, it appears the
former supermodel lacks something of the common touch.
The French people have voted their president’s wife as the country’s most
irritating celebrity.
On top of that, the poll to find the country’s most annoying people found
her husband Nicolas Sarkozy to be one of France’s most irksome politicians.
Miss Bruni, 43, topped the list of media personalities that most got on
people’s nerves, with 52 per cent of people saying they found her presence
‘highly grating’.
She was followed by veteran screen star Alain Delon on 47 per cent and
actor Gerard Depardieu on 46 per cent in the Harris poll of 1,713 adults.
The award rounds off a turbulent year for Miss Bruni.
In February, historian Patrick Weber branded her a ‘frivolous fashion
victim who is isolated from reality’ in a book about her life.
Then in March she was forced to deny rumours she was having an affair with
singer Benjamin Biolay.
Her husband was voted France’s fourth most unbearable politician, behind
socialist presidential candidate Segolene Royal, interior minister Brice
Hortefeux and National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen.
French daily Le Parisien said: ‘This couple clearly have a lot of PR work
to do for themselves over the next 12 months.’

对布吕尼来说，获此殊荣可谓给今年的流年不利“画上了圆满的句号”。
今年二月份，历史学家帕特里克•韦伯在讲述布吕尼的一本书中称她“脱离现实，是个轻佻时尚的牺牲者”。
紧接着在三月，她又不得不出面否认她与歌手本杰明•比奥雷的绯闻。
她的丈夫萨科奇在法国最令人反感政治人物榜上名列第四。前三位分别是社会党总统候选人塞格琳•罗雅尔、内政部长布莱斯•奥尔特夫、以及国民阵线领导人让-玛丽•勒庞。
法国日报《巴黎人报》在报道中称：“在未来一年，萨科奇夫妇无疑需要做大量的公关工作了。”
