Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is traveling outside her home
city of Rangoon for the first time since she was released from seven years of
house arrest.The Nobel Peace laureate arrived by plane Monday in the ancient
temple city of Bagan with several of her close colleagues for a four-day
visit.She is joining her youngest son, visiting from Britain, who arrived in the
central Burmese city a day earlier.Aung San Suu Kyi has said her private trip
will not include politics. However, the visit is seen as a test of official
reaction ahead of a national tour planned by the political activist later this
month.
