Picking the World's Best Places for particular pleasures
The best country in the world for pregnant women is France and Brazil is
good for those looking to get plastic surgery, as part of its "World's Best
Countries" study, Newsweek magazine featured a list of "The World's Real
Winners" on August 16.
India was named best place to fly a kite as the pastime is a daily activity
for many Indians. "Makar Sankranti, an annual international kite festival, draws
more than 1 million enthusiasts from 36 countries every year," the magazine
said。
The best place to be old is Japan, where senior citizens make up 20 percent
of the population. The country also boasts the longest life expectancy in the
world, a generous pension scheme, and social respect for the elderly。
Brazil is the place to go to be surgically enhanced. No other country has
so many plastic surgeons per capita，the US$15 billion industry draws almost as
many tourists as the beaches。
Belgium is the top spot for dogs as they are treated as well as humans and
considered family members. Dogs are allowed on trains and in shops and
restaurants。
The Netherlands was named the most gay-friendly country. Same-sex couples
there were granted the same rights as heterosexual couples in 2001, and
Amsterdam's annual gay-pride festival is still considered the hottest party on
the planet。

巴西人对整容手术乐此不疲。巴西人参与整容的比率位居全球首位，整容相关产业规模已迅速达到了150亿美元。整容和巴西的海滩一样，吸引不少海外游客来到巴西。
比利时则被评为最适合养宠物狗的国家。在比利时，狗与人们的待遇一样，被看成是家庭成员之一。火车、商店和一些餐厅等公共场所都允许狗进入。
荷兰被评为同性恋最多的国家。2001年，荷兰通过法律，承认同性恋夫妻和异性恋夫妻享有一样的权利。而且，阿姆斯特丹每年举行的 “gay-pride”
