常考词的语法与用法nearby、nearly和necessary

　　◆nearby adj. & adv.
        　　1. 用作形容词，意为“附近的”，修饰名词时，可放在名词之前也可放在名词之后。如：
　　She lives in a nearby town [a town nearby]. 她住在附近的一个城镇。
　　2. 用作副词，意为“在附近”，此时也可分开写(near by)。如：
　　She lives nearby [near by]. 她住在附近。
　　There is a hospital nearby [near by]. 附近有家医院。
　　◆nearly adv.
　　1. 可用于修饰数字、不定代词、形容词、动词、介词短语等。如：
　　It’s nearly 10 o’clock. 差不多10点钟了。
　　It’s nearly empty (finished). 它差不多是空的(完成了)。
　　Nearly all the students were late. 差不多所有学生都迟到了。
　　2. 其前可用 very, pretty, not 等词修饰。如：
　　The car is pretty nearly new. 这汽车几乎是全新的。
　　Your work is not nearly completed. 你的工作远远没有完成。
　　注：not nearly 意为“远非”，very [pretty] nearly 意为“几乎”，都是习语。
　　3. 不能用在 any 以及 no, none, never, nobody, nothing等否定词之前。如：
　　差不多没有人通过考试。
　　误：Nearly no one passed the exam.
　　误：Almost no one passed the exam.
　　◆necessary adj.
　　1. 在系表结构后接不定式时，不能按汉语意思用“人”作主语，而用形式主语 it。如：
　　他有必要同我们一走去。
　　误：He’s necessary to go with us.
　　正：It’s necessary for him to go with us.
　　正：It’s necessary that he (should) go with us.
　　注：在以上后接 that 从句的句型中，从句谓语通常要用虚拟语气。又如：
　　It’s necessary that he (should) buy a computer. 他有必要买台电脑。
　　It’s necessary that we (should) ask for her advice. 我们有必要去征求一下她的意见。
　　2. 表示“对……有必要”，其后可接介词 to 或 for。如：
　　Sleep is necessary to health. 睡眠对健康是必要的。
　　Food is necessary for [to] life. 食物对生命是必要的。
　　注：当后接不定式的复合结构时，引导不定式逻辑主语的介词通常只用 for 而不用 to。如：
　　It’s necessary for us learn a foreign language. 我们有必要学习一门外语。
　　3. 可与 if, when, whenever, though 等连词构成省略句(可以看成是省略了it is)。如：
　　I’ll stay up all night, if necessary, to get it finished. 如有必要，我将熬个通霄把它搞完。
　　Tell him all about it when necessary. 在必须的时候把一切都告诉他。
