杜嘉班纳(D&G)辱华事件:搞砸的不只一场“秀”(双语)

  Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has been accused of racism over its new promotional videos featuring an Asian woman eating Western food with chopsticks. In the videos posted on Weibo and other social media platforms, the woman is seen eating Italian food using chopsticks in odd and playful ways.
  意大利时尚品牌杜嘉班纳(Dolce & Gabbana)最近发布了一段宣传视频,视频中一名亚洲女性用筷子吃西餐,该公司因此遭到种族歧视指控。在微博和其他社交媒体平台上发布的视频中,可以看到这名女子用筷子吃意大利菜的方式既古怪又好玩。
  The videos were part of a campaign named "DG Loves China" released ahead of the fashion house’s big show in Shanghai. The videos sparked heated discussions on China’s social media platforms, as well as criticism on Instagram and Facebook as some users found them racist, stereotypical and disrespectful toward Chinese culture and Chinese women. They’ve demanded an apology from the brand. The videos on D&G’s official Weibo account have been deleted, while those on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter are still there.
  这些视频是“DG爱中国”营销活动的一部分,在上海大型时装秀举办之前发布。它们在中国社交媒体平台上引发了热烈讨论,一些用户在Instagram和Facebook上批评他们种族主义、刻板印象、对中国文化和中国女性不尊重。他们要求该品牌道歉。杜嘉班纳官方微博上的视频已被删除,Instagram、Facebook和Twitter上的视频仍在。
  A user posted a chat record showing a conversation allegedly with D&G designer director Stefano Gabbana on Instagram. In the chat the individual who is supposedly the designer first argued about D&G’s previously released promotional video, which was allegedly insulting, before going on a rage and insulting China.

  Both the designer and a D&G official later wrote on Instagram that the account was hacked and the dialogue posted on the Internet was not their intention. However, some rejected this explanation.

  Since the controversy started, Chinese stars and models pulled out from D&G’s fashion show originally scheduled for Wednesday night in Shanghai. Chinese top celebrities including Zhang Ziyi, Li Bingbing, Chen Kun have confirmed their absence from the show. Zhang Ziyi even stated that she’ll not buy or use D&G’s products ever. Many Chinese models have also withdrawn from the D&G Shanghai show and launched the "Not Me" campaign on social media. The show was eventually canceled due to the collective boycott.
  自争议开始以来,中国的明星和模特退出了原定于周三晚在上海举行的杜嘉班纳时装秀。包括章子怡、李冰冰和陈坤在内的中国大牌已经证实了他们的缺席。章子怡甚至表示,她永远不会购买或使用杜嘉班纳的产品。许多中国模特也退出了杜嘉班纳上海时装秀,并在社交媒体上发起了“不是本人”活动。由于集体抵制,该节目最终被取消。
  In fact, this is not the first time that D&G’s ads trigger controversy. Back to April 2017, D&G posted a series of marketing videos and photos labeled # D&G Love China# on Weibo. However, this group photos has caused uproar on Weibo and is considered to be deliberately demonizing the Chinese.
  事实上,这并不是杜嘉班纳的广告第一次引发争议。早在2017年4月,杜嘉班纳在微博上发布了一系列名为# D&G Love China#的营销视频和照片。然而,这组照片在微博上引起了轩然大波,被认为是故意妖魔化中国人。
