10月28日上午10时08分，重庆市万州区长江二桥上一辆公交客车与一辆小轿车相撞后坠入长江中。从昨天起，这起事故就牵动着无数人的心。
目前，现场救援正在紧张进行中，截至昨日13点，现场已打捞出两名人员遗体。
A bus plunged into the Yangtze River from a bridge in southwestern China's
Chongqing Municipality after it crashed into a car on Sunday morning.
Two of the ten passengers have been confirmed dead, and a rescue operation
is underway.
初步调查：公交车越线撞向正常行驶小轿车
据悉，出事的22路公交车是环线行驶，始发站和终点站都是鞍子坝港口。当时22路公交车由万州区江南新区往北滨路行驶。当车行驶至万州长江二桥桥上时，与一辆由城区往江南新区行驶的小型轿车相撞。经初步事故现场调查，系公交客车在行驶中突然越过中心实线，撞击对向正常行驶的小轿车后冲上路沿，撞断护栏，坠入江中。此前，有媒体报道称是女司机逆行撞上公交车，致公交车坠江，该信息不实。
根据调查访问、调取公交客车沿线监控视频，初步确认当时公交客车共有驾乘人员10多人。

According to a preliminary investigation, the bus crossed over the line
marking the center of the bridge and crashed into the car that was driving
normally on the other side.
Initial reports said the bus was trying to avoid a head-on collision with
the car which was driving in the wrong lane.
Chongqing police released the preliminary result of Sunday's investigation,
saying more than 10 people were on the bus when the incident happened.
The police also said that the bus had veered across the road into the
oncoming traffic and crashed into the car before it plunged into the Yangtze
River.
The car was driving in the correct lane, according to the statement,
refuting previous media reports that the car was in the wrong lane.
目前，小型轿车驾驶员已被警方控制，并在医院接受治疗。相关事故原因正在调查中。
The private car driver is being treated in hospital and is under police
watch.
搜救工作全面开展 水下水情复杂
公交车坠入长江后，公安、交通等部门赶往现场全力施救。截至目前，共70多艘船只围绕公交车坠江水域全面开展搜救。救援面临的主要难点是江水较深、水域复杂。蛙人救援队、水下机器人、吊船等专业打捞力量正全力开展工作。

ongoing.
据CGTN当日下午3时10分报道，万州公交坠江事故发生后，武警重庆总队船艇支队立即启动水上抢险救援预案，第一时间抽调驻守万州的三大队12名兵力、3艘船只赶往现场救援;包括17名潜水员在内的24名专业人员携带打捞救援专业设备从南岸区紧急驰援万州。
The Armed Police Force in Chongqing has dispatched 12 soldiers and three
rescue boats to the area for the search operation. Another group of 24 rescuers,
which includes 17 divers, has also rushed to the scene.
据CGTN当晚10时30分报道，中国最大的非政府人道救援队伍蓝天救援队，也派出了88名人员参与到救援之中。
Blue Sky Rescue Team, China's largest non-governmental humanitarian
organization, has sent 88 people to join the operation.
经过专业技术分析，现场搜救人员基本判明公交车沉水位置，车辆位于水下约68米处。28日16时30分左右,水下机器人开始第一次下潜，准备通过其携带的高清摄像设备，将相关视频信息传输给救援人员。但由于水下水情复杂，水下机器人在第一次下潜30多米后，被迫上升返回。救援人员准备另择下潜地点，尽快达到公交车沉没位置。
此外，相关部门通过声纳设备，已初步确定公交车位置。救援团队认为下图中的长方形为出事的22路公交车。
60吨浮吊已到现场 准备吊起坠江公交车
据《四川日报》记者从四川路桥集团获悉，四川路桥集团的大型浮吊昨日中午赶到事故发生现场，准备吊起坠江大巴车。
相关负责人表示，项目部距万州二桥仅4公里左右，当天中午接到当地政府指令后，项目部立即组织了一架可载重60吨的浮吊和有经验的操作人员前往，13时许抵达坠江现场。根据大巴车落水地点正在操控浮吊定位，因大巴车较大，根据大巴车尺寸，工作人员正在现场编织特殊钢丝绳。待现场救援指挥部敲定救援方案后，即可展开救援。
Latest reports said the sunken bus has been located more than 60 meters
underwater.
A 60-tonne floating crane is now in place and will be used to lift the bus
out of the river.
