In modern society where fierce competition is going on in daily life, high
priority should be given to the personal ability, especially writing. As a
senior student who is about to graduate, I would like to say that a person’s
writing skill reflects the level of his or her thinking.
Why is writing so necessary? I believe the answer is very crystal clear.
Firstly, writing, one of the basic communicative skills, can help us think in a
logical way. For example, writing will become a new compulsory course in
Tsinghua University, aiming to improve the students’ expressive ability and
critical thinking. Secondly, writing can require us to read extensively. By
reviewing the work of others, we gradually develop our own viewpoints. Finally,
I have to say job interviewers value students’ writing capability, and their
communicative strength. According to national surveys, employers want to hire
college graduates who can write coherently and creatively.
In general, writing is very necessary. Students of all majors should grasp
the techniques. It not only enriches ourselves, but also benefits our work.
