Across 表示“穿过”，指得是从一细长物休如街道等的一边到另一边，如要指从街的一头到另一头则用through.例如：
Yesterday I saw a friend of mine across the street.
昨天我在街的对面看见了我的一个朋友。
Go through the street and you can find the shop.
到街道的那头你就能找到商店。

You can't miss it!你一定会找得到的。
这是在告诉对方路后的一句肯定话。意思是让对方放心，告诉得没错。例如：
Go along this road and take the second turning on the left.You can't miss it.
沿着这条路走，到第二个转弯处向左拐，你肯定能找到。
★ They saw many old things on show….
They saw many old things on show….他们看见有许多展出的旧东西。
Be on show 表示“展出”。show 可以和介词或者副词一起构成短语，表示领某人到…。例如：
This picture will be on show next week.
这张照片下周将要展出。
Let me show you around our school.
让我领你到我们学校看看。

She pointed at one of the things.她指着一样东西。
Pointed at…，表示“指着…”，point 在这儿是及物动词，常和at 搭配使用。例如：
Please point at the words and read them.
请指着单词并且读出来。
He pointed at the picture and asked me if I knew him.
他指着照片问我是否我认识他。
★ It makes me feel thirsty!
It makes me feel thirsty!它使我感到口渴。
Make sb.do…使某人干….do 是省略to 的动词不定式，作宾语补足语。能跟这样的不定式的动词还有let,hear,watch,see,feel和help等。但如果它们是被动句子时，则不能省略to .例如：
He made me work hard.
他让我努力工作。
I see him go into the car.
我看见他进了小汽车。
He helps me study English.
他帮助我学习英语。
★ How long have you had it?
How long have you had it?你有了它多长时间了？
这是一句拥有某样东西有多长时间了的问句，句中的have had 表示“已经有”，实际上就是动词have 的一般完成时形式。即have +过去分词。例如：
I have had my breakfast.
我已经吃早饭了。
She has had a good rest.
