commenting on the saying “Seek to understand others, and you will be

Simply illustrated yet profoundly meaningful, “Seek to understand
others, and you will be understood” is a well acknowledged saying. The
quotation tries to convey that understanding is a favorable quality that needs
to be encouraged and further advocated. What is true definition of
understanding? It is listening without judgement, getting to know people with
as few assumptions as possible. From where I am standing, we can easily
identify the significance of understanding others from a variety of
perspectives, and the primary one is listed below. It comes no wonder that a
vast majority of people maintain that they are blessed with sympathy, as a
result of sending out their own conduct of understanding.
Understanding from friends would grant people immeasurable strength,
and thus in turn, you would have ample opportunities of reaping new friendship.
I learned it the hard way during an impromptu speech contest. When other fellow
competitors were astonished by my huge mistake, Jessica, my dearest friend said
to me, "please have faith in yourself, it may even be a silver
lining." My gaze followed her finger which was pointed towards the hot
beverage she put on the table for me. In this way understanding is foundational
for acceptance, just in the same way that acceptance is foundational for true
kindness.
