In contemporary society, no one could have failed to notice the fact that
there exists a deep concern about the relationship between doctors and patients
among the general public. It is reported that the number of cases about the
conflicts between doctors and patients has increased 35.6% during the past
decade.
What are the causes that contribute to this problem? The following two are
the main reasons: First and foremost, few doctors only care about making money
but show indifference to patients’ feeling and these cases are exaggerated by
the media aiming at the so-called hot issues, leading to great misunderstanding
about all the doctors. What’s more, the medical cost is increasingly high so
that the patients kept in the dark think the doctors are to blame for this.
Taking above-mentioned factors into account, I may reasonably draw the
conclusion that proper measures should be adopted to deal with this problem. On
the one hand, the whole medical community should communicate enthusiastically
with the public, in an understandable way, such as organizing lectures to make
the public know more about their jobs. On the other, the government concerned
should strengthen its supervision over the distortion of some extreme cases
about the conflicts between doctors and patients and arouse the awareness of
both doctors’ and patients’ understanding of each other. Only through these ways
can we solve the problem gradually.
