还在用"in my impression"吗？

　　地道的英语表达,应该是在具备英语语感的情况下，直接运用词汇词组、固定搭配，组合出完整的句式。而不是先在脑子里反应出中文，再把中文翻译成英文。因为这样往往容易出现错误表达。以下句式是绝大多数人察觉不出来的错误表达，来看看你中招了没有?
        　　在我的印象中……
        　　( × ) in my impression
        　　( √ ) under the impression
        　　impression 表示「印象、感觉」，但要描述「在我的印象中」，并不是用介词 in，而是要用 “under”the impression，或是说
I get/have the impression that ⋯⋯。一般印象叫做 general impression。
        　　例句：
        　　They were under the impression I had come to stay.
        　　他们以为我来住下了。
        　　这个单词怎拼?
        　　( × ) How to spell this word?
        　　( √ ) How do you spell this word?
        　　当我们问「要怎么做⋯⋯」的时候，会讲 How to ... ?，但这个句型在文法上完全是错误的。因为How to
加上原形动词组成一个句子，而这个句子中缺乏主词，并不能算一个完整的句子。
        　　此时我们应该加入人称，写成 How do you spell "enthusiastic" 或是 Do you know how to spell
"enthusiastic"? 。
        　　给你这个
        　　( × ) Give you.
        　　( √ ) Here you are. / Here you go.
        　　"give you" 也是超常出现的错误，属于直翻的错误。
        　　英语系国家会用 Here you are. 或是 There you are.
        　　美式则是用 Here you go. 或是 There you go. 这两句和 Here you are. 或 There you are.
没有分别，只是语气较为随性一些。
        　　例句：
        　　A: Could you please pass me the salt and pepper?
        　　B: Yes, here you go.
        　　A：可以帮我拿一下胡椒和盐吗?
        　　B：好啊，给你。
        　　普普通通;还好
        　　( × ) so-so
        　　( √ ) all right/not too bad/OK
        　　我们一想到“一般般”就会想到so-so。喜欢谦虚的中国人一被夸奖就"soso"，其实外国人很少用 so-so 这个词，在对话中，也要尽量避免讲出
so-so，因为这个词是指「马马虎虎」，代表你对正在谈论的话题没有什麽看法，看样子跟呵呵没什么区别!
        　　因此，想表达「还好」，就尽量使用 all right / not too bad / OK.
        　　A: Have you watched “Wonder Woman” already?
        　　B: Yes! I just watched it with my boyfriend last night.
        　　A: Oh, is it worth watching?
        　　B: The movie was OK.
        　　A：你看过《神奇女侠》了吗?
        　　B：看过啦!我昨天晚上才跟我男友去看。
        　　A：噢!很推吗?
        　　B：普普通通。
        　　机率很大
        　　( × ) Chances are big.
        　　( √ ) Chances are high.
        　　中文会讲机率很大或是机率很高，但在英文里只有 chances are high 的说法!
        　　A: Chances are high that you won the lottery.
        　　B: Sure…… when pigs fly.
        　　A: 我觉得你中乐透的机率蛮大的。
        　　B: 当然⋯⋯想得美。
        　　我不怕冷。
        　　( × ) I’m not afraid of cold.
        　　( √ ) The cold doesn’t bother me.
        　　afraid of 后面只能接具体的名词，例如：I'm afraid of cockroach. 而冷是一个抽象的概念，因此不能直接说 I'm
afraid of cold.。
        　　还记得电影《冰雪奇缘》主题曲里的歌词有唱到 “The cold never bothered me anyway.” 就是这样的用法喔!
        　　例句：
        　　That kind of jealousy doesn't bother me.
        　　那种嫉妒我并不在意。
        　　药效退了
        　　( × ) The drug effect disappear.
        　　( √ ) The drug effect wears off.
        　　我们把「药效退了 / 消除」思考成英文，就会直觉翻译成 disappear。虽然 disappear 并非文法错误的用法，但外国人不会这麽讲。
        　　wear off 是指「逐渐消退、消逝」。
        　　例句：
        　　The effect of the painkiller began to wear off.
        　　止痛药药效开始渐渐消退。
        　　这价格合适。
        　　( × ) The price is suitable.
        　　( √ ) The price is right/reasonable.
        　　suitable 是指「合适的、相配的」，最常见的用法是以否定的形式出现在告示或通知中，如：未满十八岁不宜观赏——Not suitable for
minors under 18 years of age. 而要形容价格适中的话，我们会用 right，或换个方式描述价钱合理：price is
reasonable。
        　　例句：
        　　Considering the quality, I should say the price is reasonable.
        　　结合质量考虑，我认为这个价格很合理
