McDonald’s will nearly double the number of restaurants in China in the
next five years, eventually surpassing Japan as the second-biggest market
outside the U.S.
未来五年，麦当劳在中国的门店数量将增加一倍，最终会超过日本成为除美国外的第二大国。
The company expects to have 4,500 restaurants in China by 2022, up from
2,500. With fewer people eating at U.S. locations, it hopes to grow sales in
China by double digits in each of the next five years.
预计到2020年，麦当劳中国的数量将从2500家增加至4500家。吃麦当劳的美国人越来越少，因此麦当劳希望未来5年在中国的销售额年均增长率能够保持两位数。
Slowing traffic at home has other American companies turning to China for
growth. Starbucks, for example, wants to have 5,000 coffee shops in the country
by 2021, more than doubling its store count.
越来越多在当地发展不好的美国公司开始转向中国寻求经济增长。比如星巴克，到2021年星巴克在中国的门店数量将翻一番还要多，预计增长到5000家。
Some chains, however, have run into trouble in China. Yum Brands, the owner
of KFC and Pizza Hut, spun off its 7,500 restaurants in China into a separate
company after it failed to revive declining sales.
但是，很多连锁店在中国的境遇也是举步维艰。肯德基和必胜客等餐饮品牌的母公司百胜集团在未能扭转销售额下降的情况之后，把在中国的7500家门店拆分成一个独立的单个公司。
The announcement Tuesday from McDonald’s comes a week after it completed a
previously announced deal to sell most of its operations in China. McDonald’s
Corp., based near Chicago in Oak Brook, Illinois, will keep a 20 percent stake
in its China business.
一周之前，麦当劳宣布出售大部分的中国业务。周二，麦当劳中国宣布“易主”的消息。总部位于美国伊利诺斯州芝加哥橡溪镇的麦当劳公司将持有中国公司20%的股权。
McDonald’s said 45 percent of its restaurants in China will be in smaller
cities, such as Shantou and Shijiazhuang. And 75 percent of the stores will
offer delivery.
麦当劳表示，45%的门店将布局在汕头、石家庄等小型城市，75%的餐厅将提供外送服务。
There are about 37,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide and more than
14,000 in the U.S.
目前，全球共有37000家麦当劳餐厅，其中美国有14000家。 |
