Before the young man began his studies, he wanted assurance from the Master.有个年轻人，在他开始学习课程之前，他想要从大师那里确认一些事情。

The young man walked away in scorn. The disciples were dismayed that their Master had been shown up in a poor light.年轻人不屑地走了。信徒们对大师的回答不免感到沮丧。
Said the Master soothingly, "Of what is it to comprehend life's nature and life's meaning if you have never tasted it? I'd rather you ate your pudding than speculated on it."这时大师缓缓的说道：“如果你从来不曾体验过生活，那你如何理解生活的真谛与意义？就如同我情愿你们吃掉布丁，而不仅仅是在一旁来观察它。”
