First and foremost, with the deepening of reform and opening-up as well as the economic and cultural development, Chinese family structures have considerably changed--two woking parents, fewer or even spoiled children and an increasing number of empty-nesters. In addition, with the rapid development of information technology, people in modern times have many other choices to get access to information and entertain themselves without direct contact with family members. All these give rise to the alienation of relationships among family members.
