        　　When it comes to whether a studentshould become a specialist or a
generalist,there is no complete agreement among people.Some people think that
it is best for college students to focuson developing skills in one field to
become a specialist.However,others maintain that a versatile generalist is
more welcomed in the competitive jobmarket.
        　　Those people who hold the former opinion believe that it is impossible to
demand college students to become an all-round generalist within four years.In
addition,with increasing elaboration ofsocial division,the specialists are in
more urgent need.However,still others advocate the different opinion.They
hold that college students should stretch themselves to as many fields as
possible to adapt to the increasingly fierce competition.Besides,generalists
are highly demanded in the information age.
        　　Personally,I am in favor of the former opinion.I don’t think it is
advisable that college students equally spend their time and energy on several
fields.Besides,the development of high-techneeds specialists. Therefore,I
think to be a specialist is the right choicefor most students.
