Besides, if given the choice, he always preferred to work during nighttime. In this case, staying in the shadows meant doing his work while encountering minimal interactions with other human beings. Doug preferred working on things like computers, machines and equipment. It just seemed to him that unexpected circumstances tended to pop up more often when he interacted with people. It was not that he was afraid of people, it was just that he did not like to leave an impression on others. He liked to remain in the dark.
