“Would you like tea or coffee” is a frequently asked question when dining out. A considerable amount of westerners would prefer the former whereas Chinese the latter. Legend has it that a Chinese emperor accidentally discovered tea thousands years ago then applied it to medicines. In the Qing dynasties, teahouses were scattered all over the country. Despite that drinking tea spread to Japan in the 6th century, it was in the 18th century that this living style swept Europe as well as America. Nowadays, tea is one of the most prevalent beverages in the world. It is a precious treasure of China.
