Of course it was still bright outside. It was approaching early evening, and with the rush hour kicking it, the streets and traffic were getting a lot busier. Along the sidewalk, people were rushing to get home. It was the typical ambient noise of people talking to each other, walking side-by-side, or via cell phone on the other end of the line. As Doug turned the corner to come out from the alleyway, Doug took off his gloves and put them in his pocket. He made sure he looked as relaxed as possible when he merged with the walking traffic.
