I grew up in a small town andthen moved to a big city, therefore I have experienced the good and bad sidesof both. I never thought that I would like living in a big city, but I wasproved wrong. After ten years of living in one, I can't imagine ever living ina small town again.（本文的观点还是追求大城市生活）
Small towns and big citiesboth have some problems in terms of（在…方面）transportation（运输）, but in different ways. In asmall town, you have to own a car to ensure（确保）a comfortable living. You can't get around without one because thereisn't any kind of public transportation. Big cities generally have heavytraffic and expensive parking, but then you have a choice of taking publictransportation. It's not free, but it's often cheaper than driving when youconsider gas and insurance（保险）. Especially if you don't havea car, you're better off living in a city.
I love the excitement of bigcities. Small towns have a slow pace. Large cities mean you have to adapt to avariety of situations, like finding a new route to work or trying a newrestaurant. I enjoy that challenge very much. Another aspect of the excitementof city living is the variety of cultural activities available. There is a wideassortment（混合物）of theatres, music and danceperformances available in big cities. These things are rare in small towns.（小城市有很多大城市没有的设施）
The final thing I like aboutlarge cities is the diversity of the people. The United States is made up ofpeople of different races, religions, abilities, and interests. However, youseldom find such a variety of people in a small US town. Living in an area whereeveryone is just like me would quickly make me bored.Of course, security is a concern, and that's one area where small towns are superior to big cities.
