Although common sense dictates a graceful exit when you're leaving a company, there are always going to be some who slip up. Staffing agency Office Team recently conducted a survey among more than 1,300 employers who divulged some of the strangest reasons former employees have given them when resigning from their jobs. Here are a couple of doozies: 尽管辞职的时候有个正常的理由能体面离开,但总是有些人会拿出奇怪的理由辞职。最近,人事机构办公室团队在1300多位雇佣者中间做了一项调查,这些雇佣者透露了部分千奇百怪的离职理由。下面就为你列举16条奇葩理由:
        • "A guy said he was making too much money and didn't feel he was worth it."• “某个家伙说,工资太高,他受之有愧。”
        • "The worker told us he just couldn't get up in the morning."• “有个雇员跟我们说,他就是早上起不来。”
        • "He quit because he didn't like the way the office smelled."• “他辞职的理由是,他不喜欢办公室的味道。”
        • "An individual did not like the sound of file cabinets being slammed."• “某个人不喜欢档案柜猛撞的声音。”
        • "One person quit to watch a soccer tournament."• “有个人辞职是为了看足球联赛。”
        • "We had someone leave because he had to stay home to feed his dog."• “有个人辞职是为了在家喂狗。”
        • "An employee left because he wanted to watch a movie with his girlfriend during work hours."• “有个雇员辞职的理由是他要在工作时间陪女友看电影。”
        • "A person quit because he hated the carpet."• “有个人讨厌这里的地毯所以就走了。”
        • "He just walked out without a peep. We have no idea why he left, and we were not able to contact him."• “他一声不响就走了,我们不知道他离开的原因,也没办法联系到他。”
        • "One worker left to become an apple farmer."• “有个雇员走是为了做个种苹果的农民。”
        • "A staff member quit to climb Mount Everest."• “有个人辞职是为了爬珠穆朗玛峰。”
        • "There was an individual who left to play the trombone."• “有人为了吹长号辞职了。”
        • "Someone left because her boss lost the dog she had given him."• “有个人辞职是因为她上司把她送的狗弄丢了。”
        • "Our employee said he was joining the circus."• “一个雇员说,他要加入马戏团。”
        • "One person left because she lost her cell phone too many times at work."• “有个人因为工作时丢了很多次手机,于是就走了。”
        • "An employee said it was his routine to change jobs every six months."• “有个雇员跟我说,他每六个月要换份工作,这是惯例。”
Although you may be tempted to leave a job in a manner of your choosing (especially if you harbor negative feelings), it's best to reconsider your approach. 尽管你可能因为自己的选择(尤其是当你怀有负面情绪时)很想辞职,但最好再三审视一下辞职的理由。
"How you leave a job can be just as important as what you did while you were there," said Robert Hosking, executive director of Office Team. "Regardless of the reason for resigning, making a graceful exit by tying up loose ends and thanking colleagues shows your professionalism and can help you down the road in your career." “辞职的理由就跟你从事过的工作一样重要,” 办公室团队的执行董事罗伯特•霍斯金这样说道。“不说辞职原因,就说做好善终工作体面离职和跟同事道谢,这两件事都能体现出你的职业精神,并能帮你铺平职业道路。”
