　　源自早年“同乡会”和“会馆”的驻京办发展至今，已不是简单意义上的一个机构而已，其身后还有复杂庞大的附属行业，甚至成为了滋生腐败的温床。近日，国务院下发文件，要求在半年内撤销县级驻京办。但也有人指出，驻京办“瘦身”后需警惕“借壳上市”。
        　　"A lot of county-level liaison offices have become reception centers for local officials who come to Beijing," said Zhu Lijia, a professor from the Chinese Academy of Governance. "Actually, county-level governments rarely need to connect with central ministries, so it is reasonable to dismiss them."
        　　国家行政学院竹立家教授说：“很多县级驻京办变成了地方官员来京的接待中心。事实上，县级政府很少需要与中央部委联系，所以撤销决定是合理的。”
        　　文中的liaison office，确切的说是liaison office in Beijing，是指“驻京办”。Liaison是个法语词，可以指“联络”，也可以指“联络人”。　例如：Our role is to ensure liaison between schools and parents.(我们的作用是确保学校与家长间的联系。)顾名思义，liaison office就是地方驻北京的“联络处、办事处”，而专门负责liaison的官员，就是liaison officer(联络官)。
        　　目前，各地的liaison office已经发展成庞大产业，甚至形成了一条industry chain(产业链)，
        　　并附带酒店等spin-offs(附属产业)，容易滋生腐败。因此，此次通知要求撤销county-level liaison offices(县级驻京办)。
        　　此外，liaison还可以表示“暧昧关系、私通”。例如：He had already contracted a liaison with some girl.(他和某个姑娘私通了)。
