英语新词：美国或对叙利亚“单独行动”

　　虽然英国议会投票否决了授权政府干预叙利亚，但美国政府官员称，奥巴马已经准备在未得到盟友协助的情况下对叙利亚发起有限的军事打击。

        　　在英国议会周四投票意外让英国退出联盟的同时，美国总统奥巴马已经做好了可能在近期对叙利亚采取单方军事行动的准备。
        　　“单方面行动”可以用unilateral action表示，也可以用solo action来表示，即“单独行动”，是相对于“联合行动”(joint action)而言的。Solo常用作名词表示“独唱、独奏”等单人表演，如：solo concert(个人演唱会)，guitar solo(吉他独奏)等。
        　　另外，to act alone也可以表示单独行动，如：Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world's problems alone.(过去有人严厉抨击美国在全球单独行动，如今他们也不能袖手旁观，等待美国单独解决世界面临的问题)。
        　　奥巴马28日公开指认叙利亚巴沙尔 阿萨德政府动用化学武器(chemical weapons)，但强调美方还没有就军事干预(military intervention)叙利亚局势作出最终决定。美国在建立对叙行动国际联盟(international coalition)方面也遭遇重重困难，主要盟友(major allay)英国改变先前立场，承诺联合国调查结果出炉以前不发动军事行动。
