　　进入2014年以来，IT行业不断传出裁员的消息。今年7月，微软宣布在未来一年裁员1.8万人;5月底，惠普在发布2014年财年第二季度财报时，宣布再度裁员1.6万人。近日，世界软件巨头思科也宣布将裁员6000人。

        　　Cisco Systems has announced a plan for global job cuts, while thousands of Microsoft employees in China are trying to negotiate a deal for better compensation following layoffs.
        　　思科公司宣布全球裁员计划，而数千名微软中国区的员工正在努力协商出更好的裁员赔偿方案。
        　　“裁员”或者“裁减工作岗位”都可用job cuts或lay off来表示，动词形式就是to cut jobs或者to lay someone off;在英国，则多用redundancy表示，比如，Thousands of bank employees are facing redundancy as their employers cut costs. (银行削减成本，数千名银行职工面临裁员。)那么被裁的员工拿到的“裁员补偿”就是layoff compensation或者redundancy payments。
        　　裁员过程中，劳资纠纷(labor dispute)自然不可避免。目前，微软裁员岗位大部分涉及今年刚刚收购的诺基亚员工，而双方对裁员补偿标准不能达成一致。据悉，微软要求被裁的诺基亚员工在8月22日签署“协商离职协议”(Severance Agreement)，否则微软将单方面强制裁员。
