　　英国诺丁汉大学中国政策研究中心研究人员预测，由于金融危机使美日欧等发达国家的经济进入了负增长，中国经济最迟将在2010年超过日本，也很有可能在2009年就实现这个目标，成为世界第二大经济体。

　　中国有望在今年，或最迟2010年超过日本，成为全球第二大经济体。有研究人员两年前就曾表示，中国经济将于2018年之前在世界经济排名上超过日本。
　　在上面的报道中，economic pecking order指的是世界经济的强弱排序，pecking order在这里的意思是“任何团体中之长幼尊卑次序”，也称为“啄序”。例如：There is a distinct pecking order in Cabinet.(内阁成员分三六九等)。
　　Pecking order在经济领域特指“优序融资”，也称为“啄食顺序”或“融资顺序”。美国经济学家迈尔斯(Myers)于 1984 年提出了关于企业融资顺序的啄序理论(pecking order theory)，意思是当公司要为自己的新项目进行融资时，将优先考虑使用内部的盈余，其次是采用债券融资，最后才考虑股权融资。
