全球上市 make its international debut

　　7月11日，苹果公司出品的第二代iPhone(3G版)将在包括中国香港在内的22个国家和地区上市。在美国，网络运营商AT&T将会在当地时间7月11日上午8时在其店面正式发售iPhone 3G;在欧洲，英国和西班牙这两个国家已经接到30万个iPhone 3G的预订。

　　用户翘首以盼的iPhone 3G手机将于本周五(7月11日)全球上市，此举有望带动苹果公司的业绩，使苹果在蓬勃发展的“智能手机”市场中占有更大的份额。
　　上述报道中，make its international debut是“全球上市”，debut指的是present/appear for the first time to the public，即“初次登场、亮相”的意思，make one’s debut 也是这个意思。除了debut以外，unveiling，launching，以及first appearance等都可以用来表示“初次发布、亮相”的意思。
