　　大地震后，卫生部指示，卫生防疫人员要进驻到每一个乡镇、每一个村。卫生防疫工作目前面临的主要困难有生活及公共卫生条件差、疾病监控体系大面积受损、进入受灾严重地区的渠道有限等问题。目前工作已见成效，汶川灾区没有重大传染病疫情和突发公共卫生事件报告。
　　Despite no major disease outbreaks so far in quake-hit regions, health and epidemic prevention efforts continue apace. Major challenges include poor living and public health conditions, largely destroyed disease monitoring and containment systems and limited access to some of the worst- hit areas.

　　卫生部正紧锣密鼓地在四川灾区部署全面的疫情监控体系。
　　上述报道中，epidemic prevention就是“防疫”，health and epidemic prevention是“卫生防疫”;epidemic指的是a widespread outbreak of an infectious disease or many people are infected at the same time，即“流行病，传染病”或者“疫情”。disease monitoring and containment system是“疾病监控体系”，epidemic surveillance and containment system就是“疫情监控体系”。
