民生银行刚刚推出的“钻石信用卡”透支额度最高达300万元，对于引起舆论哗然的“副部级以上高官也成了此卡的目标人群”这一说法，民生解释说：“‘钻石卡’的发卡对象主要面向具有社会影响力的知名人士，并不是副部级就一定可以发。并且，拥有最高限额也不意味着就一定要消费这么多钱。”
High-level senior officials have been targeted for a new credit card issued by Minsheng Bank that carries a monthly overdraft of three million yuan, 60 times the current maximum prescribed by regulations.
In defense of their "Diamond Credit Card" service, the bank said this type of credit cards is mainly designed for the upper classes people like celebrities, business tycoons and senior officials, but denied it singled out officials above the rank of vice minister as its targeted clients.
