When the color changes, it can be a warning for danger ahead, or an indication for safety. What is the purpose of the color change? Who or what is affected? What will be the outcome?

The beep rang in his ears as the light on the security pad changed from red to green, a sound he normally did not pay much attention to. He reached out and opened the door. The office area was completely still. Because the surrounding was so quiet, he could hear the printer hard at work in a room nearby. 'Toxicology Laboratory' read the sign on the door. Spitting out one last page, the printer came to a stop just when Sean walked in. He picked up the pile of paper, turning it over and started to scan through the first few pages when suddenly, his phone rang.
