When he first started in the business, Hodge had been curious about the identity of the computer-generated voice from which he received instructions, but he knew better than to ask too many questions. As long as it was a lucrative business, it was best to just let the money flow. After he finished reporting, Hodge leaned back on the sofa. He called an auto repair shop and left a message on their machine, asking them to tow his vehicle from the alleyway behind Club 1997 and to repair the busted driver-side window. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, contemplating his next step.
