贿选或俗称买票指利用给予利益给投票人贿络以换取选票的行为。
2013年末曝光的湖南衡阳人大贿选案梗概令人触目惊心：省级人大代表选举中，每张选票均价接近20万元，当选代表人均成本耗近200万元。本是汇集民意之地，地方国家权力机关换届选举却被贴上标价签。人大代表贿选潜规则盛行，远远不止在衡阳一地。
2014年3月9日，十二届全国人大会第二次全体会议上，张德江指出，衡阳市发生的以贿赂手段破坏选举的违纪违法案件，性质严重，影响恶劣，给我们以深刻警示。必须切实加强对人大代表选举工作的组织领导，坚持严格依法按程序办事，切实加强人大代表思想、作风建设，维护宪法法律的权威和尊严。与此同时，在十二届全国人大二次会议召开的新闻发布会上，大会新闻发言人傅莹表示，国家将用“零容忍”的态度对待贿选和破坏选举的行为。

As we all know, the autocratic monarchy system had existed in China for several milleniums. Even though Chairman Mao had launched the three-anti and five-anti campaigns in 1950s, there are some corrupted ideologies remaining, such as the bureaucratism and formalism, which have been deeply ingrained in our country. As far as I’m concerned, this sort of election frauds is precisely the manifestation of bureaucracy. This illegal inteference with the process of an election has been a major hindrance to the construction of our democratic politics. There’s no doubt that our government would vow “zero tolerance” and severe punishment on offenders. But seen from another point of view, it also reflects the ever-expanding material desire of those voters who took part. Isn’t it pathetic and ridiculous that those ignorant voters trade the right our nation entitles us with corrupt officials for money, which in turn fosters the corruption and degeneration of our nation? It’s a fact that we have no right to make any decision for our government, but at the very least we should make sure that we cast our votes with a clear conscience, and protect us from being contaminated by the corruption atmosphere around the society.
