背景介绍：
日前，湖北武汉交通职业学院图书馆根据该馆“读者借书和进馆排行榜”，对前10名学生分别给予每人200元左右的书籍奖励。无独有偶，江西省井冈山大学图书馆近日也对2013年第一季度“读者借阅排行榜”中前10名的学生，给予增加5册图书的借阅权限和一定物质奖励。武汉交通职业学院有关负责人表示，此举是为了鼓励学生充分利用图书馆内的资源，提高读者的到馆率。事实证明，目前一些高校图书馆其学生进馆率和借书率呈下滑趋势，原因是什么，物质奖励是否是解决问题的方法，现在的高校图书馆为吸引读者又有哪些创新？

If you ask me, I take this policy with a pinch of salt. After all, why is it necessary to inspire one spiritual activity on the level of materialism? It's much better and more reasonable to give those who're keen on reading one more book as a reward of their reading, instead of money or something else. Here is one more fact we can never ignore——we students get to study, get to read other than we have to do so. Please always keep it in your mind that reading is a kind of rigid consumption in your life. It should, would and could not be a luxury.

It is the truth that fewer and fewer students go to library in my university. As far as I am concerned, this problem comes down to the temptations of multiform amusements. Back in the 1990s when computers, Internet, cell phones and KTVs haven’t been widespread, students didn’t have many choices for entertainment. Therefore, at that time, reading books in library is a kind of distraction to some extent. But nowadays, almost every college student has a lap-top and the Internet has become part of everyday life. It is obvious that these kinds of entertainments compare favorably with reading in a library. Sarcastically, our library is always full of people fighting for the final exams during the end of each semester. Library has become a place for students to study by themselves rather than a place that you can borrow books. I can’t jump to a conclusion that the material incentive policy would make this situation a difference, but I do hope that students could consider library as a mine of information not just a place of study.
