Chinese consumers shopping from overseas online retailers using China’s electronic payment platform Alipay（支付宝） surged by 117% in 2012(the expenditure reached $85 billion). This was higher than domestic e-shopping, according to data released by Alipay, gb.cri.cn（国际在线） reported Tuesday. Zhejiang is ranked the top online overseas shopping province in terms of its purchasing power, followed by Guangdong, Shanghai and Beijing. These 4 provinces and municipalities account for half of the total overseas shopping in China. In addition, data shows that milk powder is the hottest product.

As a dwelling female（宅女）, thanks to the development of e-commerce（电子商务）, I can choose what I need without going outside. Although I have never tried overseas online shopping, the feelings of those purchasers who have done it are fully understandable. No one will refuse to buy ideal products having excellent quality and reasonable price, especially when domestic products suffer trustful crisis and citizens have no confidence in them. However, every coin has two sides, sometimes those consumers will undertake risks, for the after-sales services may be absent. In addition, is it legal for consumers to buy things from foreign countries without paying tax? If plenty of expenditure is lost overseas all the time, how can we fuel our own economic growth with consumption? I really doubt it. What counts most at present, nevertheless, is improving the quality and safety of our own products.
