Where Am I?
置身何处
After a person died, he went to a beautiful place. The person at the gate looked at his ID card and then brought him to a very beautiful villa with lakes, flowers and everything surrounding it, a big garden, birds singing, dogs barking, ducks quacking. Everything was perfect. After a while, someone else took him to another place so that he could have more enjoying with delicacies like cakes, candies, blessed food, and all the beautiful international cooking for him to sample. After that, they took him out to maybe a night club, so that he could see the dancing or dance himself.
有个人死后，去到一个很漂亮的地方。然后有人在大门口看看他的证件，带他到一间很漂亮的别墅，有湖泊围绕，有花团锦簇，还有个大花园，鸟儿啾啾，小狗汪汪叫，鸭子嘎嘎叫，一切都很完美。过一会儿，又有人带他到另一个地方，让他饱享美食佳肴——糕点、糖果、祝福的食品等，世界各地好吃的菜肴都让他品尝。然后又带他到另一个地方，也许是夜总会，他可以看人跳舞或自己跳舞。
After a while, they took him to another place for just enjoyment——listening to music, watching theater, and things like that. Many days went by and on and on like this——always eating, sleeping, making merry, and nothing else.
过一会儿，又带他去另一个地方享受——听音乐或看电影之类。许多日子都这样消磨度过，总是吃、睡、玩乐而已。
So the man began to feel a little bit "itchy". He said, "Well, can you give me some work to do? I'd like to do something."
所以，那个人开始觉得有点痒痒的，他说：“可以给我一些工作做吗？我想做点事。”
The attendent was very sad and said, "I am sorry. We have no work for you here. With this I cannot help you."
然而，随从却抱歉地说：“抱歉！我们这里没工作给你，这个忙我帮不上。”
So the man said, "My God! If I have nothing to do, this could be like in hell."
那个人说：“老天，没事做，那不是像在地狱一样吗？”
So the attendent said, "Where do you think you are now?"
随从说：“不然你以为自己在哪儿呢！”
The King and a Bag of Gold
国王和一袋金子
There once lived a king who liked listening to jokes. "I'll give a bag full of gold," he said, "to the person who can tell the best story. There is only one rule. It must be a story which I can not believe, and if I cannot believe it, I will give him the gold."
从前一个国王，他喜欢听笑话。他说，“谁能讲最好的故事，我就送给他满满一袋金子。但有一个规则：这个故事必须是我不信的。如果我不信他的故事，我就给他金子。”
People came tp the king from all parts of the country. They brought strange and wonderful stories. The king sat in his place and listened to all the stories. He enjoyed them very much, but to each person he said, "I can believe the story. It could happen and may be true. So I won't give you the bag of gold."
人们从四面八方来见国王，带来了许多新奇而精彩的故事。国王坐在座位上听了所有的故事。他很喜欢这些故事，但他对每一个人都说：“我相信这个故事。这种事可能发生而且或许就是真的，所以我不能给你这些金子。”
At last a poor old man came to the palace. He was carrying a huge stone jar. The old man went into the king's room and said, "Oh, King, your good father was once a poor man and my father was rich. They were very good friends. My father gave your father a large jar, like this one, and it was full of gold. Your father promised to give back the gold when he became rich. And I want the gold."
最后，一个可怜的老头来到王宫，他带着一只巨大的坛子。老头走进国王的房间说：“哦，国王，你那和蔼可亲的父亲曾经是一个穷人，而我父亲曾经很富有，他们是好朋友。我父亲给了你父亲一个这样的坛子，并且装满了金子。你父亲曾经许诺说，当他富有后会把金子还回来的。我现在把金子要回来。”
The king said, "I don't believe that story. The jar is very big. There isn't enough gold in all my country to fill the jar with. My father didn't tell me anything about the jar of gold."
国王说：“我不相信这个故事。这坛子这么大，就是全国所有的金子也装不满。我父亲没告诉我任何关于这摊金子的事。”
"All right," the old man said, "Never mind. If you don't believe the story, give me the bag of gold, please."
“好吧，”老头说，“不要紧。如果你不信这个故事，请给我一袋金子。”
The king remembered the rule, and he had to give the old man the bag of gold.
国王这时候想起了规则，他不得不给老头一袋金子。
