I was having dinner at a restaurant when Tony Steele came in. Tony worked in a lawyer's office years ago, but he is now working at a bank. He gets a good salary, but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back. Tony saw me and came and sat at the same table. He has never borrowed money from me. While he was eating, I asked him to lend me twenty pounds. To my surprise, he gave me the money immediately. 'I have never borrowed any money from you,' Tony said, 'so now you can pay for my dinner!'

deserve:to be worthy of 值得，应该得到
1)deserve + n.
He deserved a promotion.(promotion : 提升)
2)deserve to do: 应该...
She deserved to be punished.
Good work deserves good pay.
2. He gets a good salary
salary:指按月发的薪水，领取薪水者通常是经过培训而具有特殊技能或专门知识的人
wages：通常用pl.形式，一般指按星期甚至按天发的工资，领取工资者通常是做体力劳动的人。
pay : 工资(salary+wage)　通用
bonus : 奖金, 分红
collet:搜集, 领取　　collect salary/wage : 领工资
3.he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back.
so now you can pay for my dinner
pay back:归还
pay for sth: pay作vi.
4. Tony saw me and came and sat at the same table
sat at the same table:坐到同一张桌子前
at table : 吃饭
at the table:坐在桌子旁边
注意介词用法：at a restaurant，in a lawyer's office, at a bank
[B]第四部分 KEY STRUCTURES AND USAGE：[/B]
1、I was having dinner at a restaurant when Tony Steele came in.
when:连词，放句中连接2个分句
Tony saw me and came and sat at the same table.
and：连词，连接几个v.，表示一连串动作的发生
2、He has never borrowed money from me. （money前无任何修饰，指钱这样一个概念，并不是指具体的钱的数目）
I have never borrowed any money from you.（money前用any修饰，表示具体的数目，没有借过任何钱）
I asked him to lend me twenty pounds. To my surprise, he gave me the money immediately.（money前的定冠词the，指代前面所提到的twenty pounds）
