        1997年秋天，流行朋克乐队Plain White T’s正式成立。2001年，乐队自己发行了DIY专辑《Come on Over》，在这张唱片卖出了好几千张以后，终于引起了唱片公司的注意。Fearless公司签下了Plain White T’s，并在2002年为他们推出了全长专辑《Stop》。2005年年初，乐队在经历了人员变动和大规模巡演后推出了新专辑《All That We Needed》。也是在那个时候，乐队阵容终于稳定下来：主唱依旧是Tom Higgenson，而Tirio和Tim Lopez担任吉他，De'Mar Hamilton鼓手，Mike Retondo贝斯。在这张专辑里，出现了乐队成绩最好的一首单曲《Hey There Delilah》，这首单曲一改乐队的基本风格而是十足的抒情民谣味道。2006年，乐队特意为这首单曲推出同名EP，收录了单曲的多个版本以及四首新歌和MV。这首单曲在2007年夏天也终于登上Billboard Hot 100单曲榜的冠军位置，成为Plain White T’s的第一支冠军单曲。
