沪江英乐：Sean Paul在St. Andrew的一个艺术家庭中长大，其双亲都是颇有天赋的运动员，母亲还是当地一位知名画家。他的家庭成员多是游泳运动员，其祖父和父亲都是国家水球队运动员，其双亲也都是游泳运动员。故身为混血儿的他自幼就很喜欢运动，并十分擅长游泳和水球。后来，Paul也继承父业加入了牙买加国家水球队，从13岁开始到21岁都在为国家队效力。
但随后Sean Paul决定放弃体育并开始专注于自己的音乐事业。1993年，年轻的Paul已经和雷鬼乐组合Third World的几位成员混得很熟了。1996年，Paul在制作人Jeremy Harding的帮助下发行了个人的首支单曲《Baby Girl》，事实证明，Sean Paul从这时候已经开始上路了。在2000年，Sean Paul在VP Records旗下发行了其第一张录音室专辑《Stage One》，并获得了一些不错的反响。
2002年，他发行了第二张录音室专辑《Dutty Rock》，这张专辑使他在全世界范围内名声大噪。《Dutty Rock》全球最终销量突破600万张，其中包括美国本土的200万张。并且，这张专辑也让Sean Paul获得了2004年第46届格莱美奖的三项提名，分别是：“最佳新人奖”、“最佳男性说唱表演（《Get Busy》）”和“最佳雷鬼专辑（《Dutty Rock》）”并在最终为他斩获了他的第一座“金唱机”，获得了“最佳雷鬼专辑（《Dutty Rock》）”。
2005年9月27日，Sean Paul发行其第三张录音室专辑《The Trinity》，该专辑收录了多首世界范围内的打榜单曲。其中《Temperature》的数码下载超过了100万次获得了白金单曲认证并且在Billboard Hot 100前十名Sean Paul赢得格莱美奖占据了17周之久，是当年在前十名时间最长的单曲，也让这支单曲成为了他在美国最成功的单曲。
2009年8月18日，Sean Paul发行了第四张录音室专辑《Imperial Blaze》，包括了首单《So Fine》等多首单曲。在之后他转向了欧洲市场，2011年他发行了两张单曲《Got 2 Luv U feat. Alexis Jordan》和《She Doesn't Mind》，前者是与Ryan Tedder和Stargate共同创造并由Stargate制作的，这两张单曲在欧洲取得了相当不错的成绩。
如今，继Bob Marley之后，Sean Paul和Damien Marley（Bob Marley之子）一起已经逐渐成为当代牙买加音乐的标志。
