        南非的国歌是把赞美诗《Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika》《Die Stem van Suid-Afrika/南非的吶喊》和英语结合起来的一支混合歌，里面包括南非常用的五种语言：科萨语（第一节前两行），祖鲁语（第一节后两行），梭托（第二节），南非语（第三节）和英语（第四节）。这对于在单一语言背景下成长的球员来说实在太过困难，所以球员们在赛场上往往唱到一半就没声了，实在是国歌语言太多。为了解决这一问题，南非文化部近半年一直在为普及国歌努力。他们的目标是在今天这场揭幕战上，南非球员和现场观众可以完整的唱出每一句歌词。
