这队由两位製作人Marc Collin和Olivier Libaux领军的法国巴黎Downtempo / Loungecore乐团取名为Nouvelle Vague，他们正打正旗帜以「Bossa Nova手法重新阐释New Wave曲目」为卖点，开宗明义将这两门本是各具异稟的音乐品种进行通婚。单看乐队的名字，已即道明来意，好开门见山啊。
2004年，Nouvelle Vague的首张同名专辑Nouvelle Vague，他们便閒适而温婉地以Bossa Nova抑或种种南美曲风，配以一把甜美女声主唱，玩尽一眾自来七、八十年New Wave与Post-Punk纪元的经典歌曲。从Joy Division 到Depeche Mode，从The Clash 到The Cure，从Modern English到Tuxedomoon，其作品都由Nouvelle Vague註释成美不胜收的甜丝丝雋永浪漫小品，毋庸置疑是当年的一大惊豔。也好明显二人是听New Wave、Post-Punk、Synth-Pop长大的一群。
结果Nouvelle Vague专辑迄今全球己推出了二十万张。
两年后Nouvelle Vague再出击，第二张专辑Bande A Part继续向New Wave / Post-Punk时代的经典作致敬。今次落在他们手上的，包括有Blondie、Buzzcocks，Bauhaus、Echo & The Bunnymen、New Order、Visage、Yazoo、Billy Idol等等乐团的曲目。
Bande A Part是来自法国导演高达的一部电影名字，即Band Of Outsiders之意。
