在众多的女声天碟中其实有两种声音最弥足珍贵。一种凭着磁性迷人嗓音，唱尽人间沧桑变化；另一种则是独一无二的天赋，犹如不吃人间烟火的天籁之声。前者是入世，在俗世中的一股清泉，这大概只能是一些心无旁念，阅历过人的歌手的专利了，而后者是出世，由于先决条件的局限，可能比前者更罕见。
而来自都柏林的女歌手Meav则是后者中翘楚，在唱片中深情演绎了十二首爱尔兰民谣。她的歌声有如封面那样质朴而令人印象深刻，简单的伴奏乐器，更令Meav的歌声加添几分脱俗，Meav运腔圆转，即使是在高音域依然保持清丽的透明度，毫无让人难受的沙石感。
本唱片另外一个值得称赞的地方在于Meav在挖掘本身声底的同时能幻化出多种不同的唱腔，像在第十一首中有如圣咏一般高啸入云的歌声，更有一种古典之美，而在第九首"Si Do Mbaimeo"轻快活泼的歌声，使人仿佛置身于快乐的儿童乐园。那深沉的鼓声，雄壮的男声和唱，竟不知不觉间融为一体。第四首"She Moved Through the Fair"中深远宽大的声场，特别是敲击乐器最后一击相信会令全体音响发烧友热血沸腾起来。
