英国“上尉诗人”詹姆仕布朗特（James Blunt）在首张专辑《Back to Bedlam》（不安于室）发行近3年后，新歌《1973》于近日推出。在新作发行前，他的首张专辑《Back to Bedlam》也在日前成为千禧年以来最畅销的英国专辑。
其首张专辑《Back to Bedlam》拜《You’re Beautiful》（美丽的你）这首超级畅销金曲之赐，光是在英国就已销售超过三百零二万张，全世界更是狂卖一千一百万张。他也因此荣获五项格莱美奖提名，并得到两座全英音乐奖肯定，《You’re Beautiful》一曲也成为21世纪最受欢迎的婚礼指定歌曲。
虽然第一张专辑在全球获得如此的好的销售成绩，詹姆仕却也一派轻松的告诉媒体：“创作第二张专辑完全没有压力”。但是他也明白要超越第一张专辑销量的机会可能很低。即便如此，他还是抱着爱音乐的心情录制了这张新专辑，希望能够让乐迷看到他作为一位创作者在音乐上的成长。
全新专辑《All The Lost Souls》(失落的灵魂)是詹姆仕与他一起巡回2年半的乐队以现场表演的方式录制完成的，并采取70年代录音方式营造出一种复古的感觉。专辑中收录的十首歌曲包括：《1973》、《I Really Want You》、《Same Mistake》和《Annie》……等，这些歌曲彼此间都有着关联性，讲述着完整的一个故事，新专辑将会于9月中旬发行。把新歌取名《1973》，的确很有70年代的精神，但詹姆仕并不急着透露歌曲命名的原因，旨在让歌迷先一听为快这首充满放克乐风的轻快新作品。
日前，詹姆仕布朗特也在7月7日于伦敦参与了“Live Earth气候危机演唱会”的演出，并在现场演唱了同是新专辑里的歌曲《Same Mistake》。
